Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative is reporting 125 members without power as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 19. Crews continue to work scattered individual outages across the entire cooperative system. NEOEC officials say they expect complete restoration of all remaining meters without power by Thursday, December 20.
We appreciate the patience of our members as they have endured this ordeal with us, said cooperative general manager Robert Echenrode. As I have said before, an outage of any length is difficult. This event, like the one in January, has been devastating to our system. I commend our membership once again on its obvious resiliency.
To date, NEOEC has restored power to nearly half of its membership nine days after one of the most destructive ice storms in state history interrupted their service. During the height of the outages, power was lost to 17,200 of the cooperatives 38,057 meters.
